I'd encourage other institutions to move to the Ultra Base Navigation now. Don’t hesitate. Give your instructors and students the modern interface they want and expect.

Reason for moving to the Ultra experience:

“Though we were an early adopter of SaaS, we were still using Learn Original. Our instructors were craving a more modern, clean, easier-to-use interface.”

Transition timeline:

  • June 2020 – Enabled the Ultra Base Navigation
  • July 2020 – Ally rollout to instructors
  • August 2020 – Initial group of faculty to use Ultra Course view
  • Summer of 2021 – Expect all courses will be delivered using the Ultra Course view

Perspective on Learn Ultra:

“Two weeks—from the decision to transition—was our timeline for enabling the Ultra Base Navigation. I was so grateful to partner with our Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Blackboard support team; this was truly an example of teamwork at its best.”

“Our faculty love Learn Ultra. As one example, Dr. Teresa Martinelli, a Professor from the College of Business and Public Management, shared that ‘Ultra is D-bomb’.”

“We are on an ‘Ultra-high’. Instructors love Blackboard Learn’s Ultra Base Navigation and many are planning on moving to the Ultra Course View for the fall.”

“The move to Ultra has re-energized our instructors. I’m getting calls about integrating different technologies and planning for future classes. I expect all courses to be using the Ultra Course View by the summer of 2021.”
