Learn Ultra supports our goals of retaining and graduating more students. It looks great, facilitates communication, and offers students the educational resources needed to be successful.

Reason for moving to the Ultra experience:

“We needed a more up-to-date, SaaS-based LMS to support our aggressive retention and graduation goals.”

Transition timeline:

  • May 2017 – Decision to renew Blackboard contract and transition to Learn Ultra after a thorough LMS re-evaluation
  • Fall 2017 – Conducted pilot of the Ultra Base Navigation
  • January 2018 – Moved to SaaS with the Ultra Base Navigation and Original Courses
  • Spring 2018 – Rolled out Collaborate as a virtual classroom and Ally to increase content accessibility

Perspective on Learn Ultra:

“Our Fall pilot of the Ultra Base Navigation with Original courses went so well that we sped up our timeline; transitioning the entire campus in winter rather than waiting until summer.”

“Our decision to stay with Blackboard was faculty-driven. We evaluated 3 LMSs. Our faculty voted overwhelmingly to stay with Learn. Though there were some attractive features with other LMSs, none were valuable enough to justify a move.”

“The extra curb appeal of the Ultra experience helps attract and retain students. For students considering an online degree, the new modernized ‘front-of-the-house’ makes the program more appealing.”

“Continuous delivery has been fantastic! It’s wonderful to get updates with no downtime. We had some initial concerns prior to making the move, but now realize they were unfounded.”
