Make Fix Your Content Day a campus-wide event
You’re registered for Fix Your Content Day 2026. Now it’s time to get your campus involved!
On Tuesday, November 10, 2026, institutions around the world will come together for 24 hours of action to improve the accessibility of digital learning content using Blackboard Ally
Whether you’re planning a campus-wide campaign or simply want to get a few colleagues involved, there are lots of ways to participate.
Get your campus involved
Build awareness before Fix Your Content Day
Start by deciding what Fix Your Content Day means for your institution. A clear goal can help you focus your communications and motivate participation.
Consider:
- Set an institutional priority: Is your focus on increasing participation, improving accessibility across specific content types, or tackling a particular area of your digital content?
- Set a target: Decide what success looks like. This could be a number of fixes, courses improved, departments participating, or people taking part.
- Identify your audience: Think about which teams or groups can make the biggest impact and tailor your communications accordingly.
- Build awareness: Use email, LMS announcements, newsletters, team meetings, and other internal channels to let your campus know you’re taking part.
Tip: Use the ready-to-go email and LMS templates below to make getting started easy.
Host a Fix-a-Thon
Turn Fix Your Content Day into a shared activity by bringing colleagues together for a virtual or in-person Fix-a-Thon.
Set aside time for people to:
- Review their course content
- Work through accessibility issues together
- Ask questions and share tips
- See how many files they can improve
- Celebrate progress throughout the day
Carve out dedicated time (and a room, if in-person) for instructors and/or staff to work on fixes side by side. Queue up the Fix Your Content Day Playlist to keep the energy up while you work.
Create some friendly competition
A little friendly competition can help generate energy and participation.
Consider challenging departments and teams to see who can make the most improvements to accessibility. Use your institutional report to identify and recognize those who have made the biggest improvements.
Tip: If your institution shares one Learning Management System instance across multiple schools, each school can still see how many fixes it's contributing using the usage report as part of the Institutional Report.
Involve everyone
Accessibility is everyone’s responsibility, and Fix Your Content Day doesn’t have to be limited to teaching staff.
Consider inviting colleagues from:
- Faculty and teaching teams
- Accessibility and disability services
- Learning and teaching teams
- Libraries
- Marketing and communications
- Student support
- IT and digital teams
- Administrative teams
Think beyond individual courses, too. Shared documents and resources can also benefit from accessibility improvements.
Keep the momentum going
Fix Your Content Day is just one day, but the work can continue long after the 24 hours are over.
Use the event to:
- Start conversations about accessible content
- Share accessibility tips with colleagues
- Identify common accessibility challenges
- Celebrate improvements
- Encourage colleagues to keep working toward more accessible courses
Every improvement makes digital learning more inclusive for students.
