The migration to SaaS exceeded our expectations, and faculty and student acceptance of the Ultra Base Navigation was much faster than anticipated.


We have always led the adoption of best practices in education and our digital transformation will be no exception. We needed a state-of-the-art LMS to support this evolution, and Blackboard Learn Ultra is the perfect fit for us.


Both faculty and students find the Ultra Course View more visually appealing and user friendly.

Blackboard makes it easy to develop an ecosystem that serves all of our students. Blackboard has helped us solve many different issues and address a number of university goals.

Success can be measured by feedback from instructors. They feel at home. They enjoy the platform and find it user-friendly, and there are no critical issues for our technical team. We get great support from Blackboard.

Anthology has more capability in terms of the number of features and number of users handled at a time...Also, [we] needed to integrate the learning management system (LMS) with the student information system (SIS) and Blackboard Learn [Ultra] provided what [we] needed.

Our instructors are medical or clinical—they may not be heavy computer users. The user-friendliness of the Ultra Course Experience has made teaching in Blackboard so much easier.

Our target audience is Generation Z or the so-called ‘Centennials.’ Their life is marked by the rise of the Internet. They are digital natives, which is reflected in their positive response to new online learning environments.

Students love the pre-recorded videos and found them to be so informative and extremely useful in helping them understand the lesson. They are also able to rewind, pause and repeat videos after a synchronous session until they fully understand the topic.

We are a part of the City of Louisville’s 55,000 Degrees (55K), a program to advance our citizens’ education achievement. Learn Ultra and Collaborate Ultra help us attract and educate students in order to deliver on these 55K goals.


Our staff like that their courses look cleaner, their content is at most three clicks away, and new features are introduced all the time, It's amazing to see how quickly Anthology is developing Blackboard Learn Ultra, and we really appreciate the work that Anthology is doing to keep us up-to-date with the latest developments via the monthly office hours and Blackboard user group webinars.
SaaS Deployment

We have 5 colleges with varying schedules which was making it increasingly difficult to find windows for updates and new releases.


We migrated 25,000 courses in 3 days. It was a nice, smooth migration.


The benefits of SaaS are numerous: zero downtime, equal if not faster speeds, disaster recovery, and we are now always on the latest release.


Moving to SaaS has reduced our total cost of ownership for Blackboard Learn; we are especially seeing benefits from a reduced administrative burden.


Moving to SaaS was effortless; there was not much to it.


With SaaS deployment, we don’t have to worry about capacity or availability. In other words, we are no longer limited—our capacity for learning innovation is now unhindered.

Moving to a cloud-based delivery model is an important first step for us. It sets in motion our strategic plan to become the first fully digital campus in the UAE, and zero downtime is critical to achieving this objective.
