Reason for moving to SaaS:

Scalability. “We must be positioned to scale quickly as our enrollment goals are significant.”

Uptime. “Our calendar is full; there is no opportunity for downtime.”

Security. “Security is a top priority, so it’s imperative Learn is always updated with the most recent patches and releases.”

Transition experience:

  • TAMUCC moved from Managed Hosting to Learn SaaS with the Original experience in January 2018.
  • “Our move to SaaS was great; it went exactly as expected.”

Perspective on SaaS:

“Our goal is to grow enrollments from 12,000 to 15,000 FTE by 2020; SaaS offers us the flexibility and scalability needed to manage this fast rate of growth.”

“Our only window for upgrades was a few days over the December/January break. The seamless SaaS updates mean that we can now finally take a winter vacation too.”

“We feel like we have a true partner in our Blackboard Service Delivery Manager (SDM). It was a real benefit to have someone knowledgeable to quickly resolve issues and answer questions.”

“We now finally have time for innovation – we’re going to focus this time on integrating Learn with more campus systems, driving faculty adoption, and more effectively using Analytics for Learn and Predict to drive retention.”
