Reason for moving to the Ultra experience:

"We needed to create an environment that will increase faculty and student LMS satisfaction and usage and improve not just the rate of LMS usage, but also how the LMS is used to support teaching and learning."

Transition timeline:

  • January 2017 – Moved to SaaS from Self-Hosted
  • Fall 2017 – Piloted Ultra courses with IIT's Institute of Design (70 courses)
  • January 2018 – Turned on the Ultra Base Navigation
  • Fall 2018 – Began offering Dual Course Mode; identifying faculty members and programs interested in adopting the Ultra Course View

Perspective on Learn Ultra:

“Faculty and students are delighted with the Ultra Base Navigation; they like the simplicity of the interface and the responsive design.”

“Now that we’re on a cloud-base system, my team and I are able to focus on end results—improving pedagogy and collaboration between end users.”

“We are letting faculty decide when they will move to Learn Ultra. That said, we are actively communicating with them to manage expectations and move adoption of Ultra along.”

“We have found that our faculty and students who have moved from a competitive LMS to Learn Ultra prefer Learn Ultra.”
