Lisa is the Chief Financial Officer at Blackboard and has been with Blackboard since July 2013. Lisa is responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including investor relations, capital markets, accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury and procurement. As part of Blackboard’s leadership team, Lisa also plays a key role in corporate strategy and global growth initiatives, including driving operational excellence, new product development and go-to-market strategies.
Lisa has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and has held a number of leadership roles in both public and privately-held companies, such as LivingSocial, GeoEye (acquired by Digital Globe) and Towers Watson. She also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Arlington Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in the DC area with investments in a number of technology companies. Prior to her corporate roles, Lisa worked with Ernst & Young in their Transaction Advisory Services practice, focusing on investments in software, IT services, telecommunications and technology infrastructure, among other types of companies.
Lisa serves on the Board of STEM for Her, a program that fosters interest for women and girls in STEM-related careers, and is an active volunteer with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. Lisa has an MBA from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree from American University.
Lisa was named one of Washington DC’s Top CFOs by Trending 40 in 2016 and was a finalist for the 2017 Women in Technology Leadership Award. Lisa is also on the steering committee for the Greater Washington CFO Network. Lisa is a Board qualified (financial expert) with National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) completed training.
