Connecting Students Through Blackboard Collaborate
Our Blackboard Collaborate virtual classroom solution is helping students around the world stay connected to learning. We are proud to partner with the following organizations to donate a free one-year license to use Blackboard Collaborate to further their mission.
Kids in a New Groove
Kids in a New Groove’s mission is to provide Central Texas children living in foster care with a committed one-on-one mentoring relationship through free, weekly, private music instruction. They will use Blackboard Collaborate to teach music lessons virtually while instructors and students can’t meet in-person during COVID-19.
Byte Back seeks to improve economic opportunity by providing computer training and career preparation to low-income DC residents. They will use Blackboard Collaborate to hold virtual training classes.
Christmas & New Year Celebration in Chennai
The Blackboard team in Chennai India has partnered with the ARK Foundation, which cares for children affected by HIV/AIDS. To celebrate the holidays, the team invited children from the organization to our offices for a day of games, snacks, and a gift distribution. Many employees bought special gifts and the company helped provide supplies for the children.
Supporting Earthquake Relief in Puerto Rico
Following a devastating series of earthquakes that struck Puerto Rico earlier this year, a group of Blackboard employees teamed-up with Puerto Rico Rise Up, a non-profit organization composed of a group of volunteers with a common purpose to bring help and comfort to those in need, to help donate much needed supplies.
Supporting the Tech Girls Movement Foundation
The Tech Girls Movement Foundation was created to champion Australian school girls using hands-on learning to transform their future and encourage equity in the technology industry. We’re proud to support them with providing free access to our learning solutions including Learn, Collaborate and Ally.
Partnering with the Jeopardy College Champion to Support Kids in His Hometown
We were excited to team-up with Nibir Sarma who won this year’s Jeopardy College Championship to donate hundreds of free books to his local YMCA.
Supporting First Book
We are proud to support First Book, a nonprofit that provides free books to children in need, through an employee virtual book drive each year. Our Blackboard office location that raises the most gets to donate the books to a school in the local community – that honor went to our Somerset, Kentucky team this year.
Making a Difference in Somerset, Kentucky
