Blackboard Academic Suite
The Blackboard Academic Suite™ is a comprehensive online learning platform used for course delivery, professional development, and to enhance traditional classroom instruction. Available as an on-premise or fully hosted solution, the Academic Suite is comprised of the Blackboard Learning System, the Blackboard Community System, and the Blackboard Content System for maximum student engagement, teacher collaboration and administrative ease.
Blackboard Learning System
- Create powerful learning content with flexible course authoring and management tools. Wizards, templates, and import tools make it easy to create or add rich, multimedia content, and to design custom learning paths or sequenced lessons to manage student progress.
- Facilitate student participation, communication and collaboration. Advanced collaboration tools help you engage students and encourage peer-to-peer learning using discussion forums with a range of moderation controls, live and voice-based interactions, secure chat, and group file exchange.
- Assess and evaluate student performance with online, automatically-scored assessments and surveys created from scratch or drawn from personal, institutional, or commercially-available "test banks". Delivery and question type options provide flexibility. Store student performance results in the course Gradebook. View high level student progress from the performance dashboard.
Blackboard Content System
- Realize the Value of Your Content. Allows content and files to be managed, re-used and shared effectively across multiple courses, organizations and modules with version tracking. Users can drag and drop from a local workstation into the Blackboard platform. Establish Disk space limits and control bandwidth to make the most of computing resources and network utilization.
- Demonstrate Student Achievement Through e-Portfolios. Enable students and faculty members to assemble, present and share information online for documenting academic growth, career evaluation and course preparation.
- Categorize and Share High Quality Learning Materials. Set up a searchable, hierarchical taxonomy to catalog learning objects and resources for inclusion in courses and for access by individual users. Workflow tools enable collaborative resource development. Give the library administrative control over Digital versions of copyright-cleared reserve readings for teachers and students.
Blackboard Community System
