In this scenario, your instructor has given you a user ID and password, and a URL to enter the course.

There are three possibilities here:

1. If the URL is long and ends in index.html (for example, http://myschool.webct.com:8900/public/mycourse/index.html) enter the address. This will bring you to your course's Welcome Page. You will see two buttons at the bottom of the page, like these:
   
   
   
   Click on the Login button. You will be asked for a user name and password. Enter them exactly as they were given. Go to Step 4.
   
   
2. If the URL is long and ends in serve_home or serve_home.pl (for example, http://myschool.webct.com:8900/SCRIPT/mycourse/scripts/serve_home) you will immediately be asked for a user name and password. Enter them exactly as they were given. Go to Step 4.
   
   
3. If the URL is short (for example, http://myschool.webct.com:8900) the page you see should resemble one listed below:

   When you click on the See Courses link, a screen should appear resembling the one below.

   

   Click on the correct category (if applicable), then find your course in the Courses column. Click on the title of the course. You will be prompted for a user name and password. Enter them as exactly as you were given (don't use your 15 or 16 digit Access Code Here!), and proceed to Creating a Global ID under Scenario 2, section 1.
   

   4.After step one or two, you will see the following screen. Click on the Figure 1 image below:

   Click on the Create myWebCT link. Then click on the image above to get further instructions.

   5. When you have successfully completed the registration process, you will see the Homepage for your course.
   
   From now on, you will log on to myWebCT using your WebCT ID and Password. You will be able to access your course directly from your myWebCT Home Area.
