You'll be hard pressed to find many as experienced in education as Darcy. She has spent more than 25 years in public higher education and received numerous honors for the advances she achieved there. Now she brings her innovative mind and rich experience to Blackboard, leading our team of nationally recognized consulting experts in higher education, K-12, e-learning and distance education, information technology, open source technology, outcomes and assessment, and analytics.

As if staying on the cutting edge isn’t enough, Darcy serves on various editorial and advisory boards and is a sought-after thought leader and presenter on distance education, online learning, and leadership.

Karen Yoshino, PhD

Karen’s decades of experience in higher education, regional accreditation, and standardized testing combine with her expertise in higher education leadership resulting in a unique resource for clients. Karen’s consulting practice includes competency-based education program design, outcomes assessment planning and design, online program strategy, and analytics for program improvement.

Karen holds a PhD in Education from Claremont Graduate University. She currently is chair of the Enrollment Committee and former chair of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees at La Roche College in Pittsburgh, PA. Karen is a former Executive Director of the SAT at the College Board in New York City.

Chad specializes in design and strategy, operations planning, and risk and change management across digital learning, BYOD/mobile, academic IT, and the broader technology ecosystems that inform and shape education today.

Over his 20+ years in higher education, Chad has served as the Assistant CIO and Executive Director for Campus & Academic Services at the University of Chicago; co-chair of the IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee; and co-PI of a global Mellon-funded cloud and shared service planning initiative. He advised university and library master planning efforts in the US and UK, and participated in numerous academic technology review and collaboration initiatives worldwide.

J. Ritchie Boyd, MA

Ritchie Boyd brings over 25 years of experience in higher education to the Blackboard Enterprise Consulting team, specializing in online and blended learning, e-learning technologies, student engagement, and faculty development.

Prior to joining Blackboard, Ritchie was with Montana State University in a variety of technology-centric leadership roles and at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and the University of Wyoming. In all of his past engagements he has worked with a broad and diverse range of faculty, students, and administrators in helping them achieve their goals of creating rich, engaging, and accessible educational experiences for their learners.

Jeff works with clients to help improve and grow their online programs with a focus on student success. Jeff’s areas of expertise are overall online program management including policy and procedures, finance, student lifecycle, program development, faculty development and course quality.

Jeff comes to Blackboard with ten years of experience in Higher Education, with the majority of the time focused on online education. Most recently, he served as Dean of Social Sciences and Online Education at Iowa Western Community College. As Dean, he oversaw substantial growth in online education and implemented a successful hybrid/blended course initiative and served on the governing body for the Iowa Community College Online Consortium.

Terianne Sousa, JD

Terianne is a student retention specialist with more than 15 years of experience in education and higher education management. Throughout her career, Terianne has worked extensively with institutions serving traditional and non-traditional students to develop their capacity to improve retention.  Beginning with data then using that data to design and implement new student success programs, Terianne’s work is at the leading edge of changing higher education’s student success practices.  As part of the Blackboard team, Terianne serves as a subject matter expert for student retention and works to provide content that motivates continuous improvements for all Blackboard retention solutions.

Terianne received her Bachelor’s degree in education and Spanish from the University of Miami. She also graduated with honors from the University Of Miami School Of Law.

Scott Ready, Director, Customer Relations

Director, Customer Relations

Scott has 20 years of experience in higher education, serving as a faculty member and department head of an Interpreter Training Program; Director of Online Education; and 10 years with Blackboard working with institutions globally. He has led institutions in furthering technology adoption; the identification, development and implementation of new online programs and transforming institutions through. After years of being a nationally certified Sign Language Interpreter, Scott developed the first Online Interpreter Training program in the nation.

Prior to academia, Scott was the Assistant Director of the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and the Director of Community Relations at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
