Maurice Heiblum is the higher education, corporate and government senior vice president at Blackboard, where he provides the leadership for generating new opportunities, driving sales, and developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for markets in North America.

Maurice was formally the president of Blackboard Collaborate™, the company’s Web conferencing and online collaboration platform, which was created through the acquisition of Elluminate and Wimba. Maurice served as president of Elluminate and had built the company from a start-up to a profitable multi-million dollar business.

Prior to joining Blackboard and Elluminate, Maurice served as the founder and chief executive officer of a startup reverse auction services exchange and as general manager of the distributed solutions division at Viasoft, where he built a highly profitable multi-million dollar software and services division from the ground up in just over 18 months. Maurice also held a number of increasingly responsible sales and marketing management positions over a 13-year career at IBM.

Maurice brings 13 years of experience partnering with higher education and K-12 institutions to transform education with technology and an additional 17 years as an executive in the IT industry.

Maurice holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and marketing from New York University.
