Tara Park

Tara Park
has been teaching students in grades K-8 virtually since 2004. She currently teaches sixth grade at the PA Virtual Charter School synchronously using Blackboard Collaborate as her online classroom. Read more >

Along with two colleagues, Tara created an online STEM program that enabled her students to connect with scientists and engineers from NASA, where she turned her Blackboard Collaborate room into a real life STEM lab where students were able to explore a variety of engineering challenges. The success of this STEM program earned the group the Blackboard Hall of Fame Award in 2012. Tara continues to search for best practices in online education that she can bring to her students.

Amy Thornton

Amy Thornton
is a project manager for the Learning Enhancement Center and Eagle Learning Online at The University of Southern Mississippi. Read more >

She is responsible for overseeing the strategic approach to moving programs online, including faculty development, course development, and marketing and recruitment, as well as overseeing the organization of faculty development events like their annual conference.Amy started as an instructional technologist in the Learning Enhancement Center in 2006 designing and facilitating training for emerging technologies. She has also served in leadership roles such as president of the Hattiesburg American Society for Training and Development from 2009-2012. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Southern Miss.
