Session Title: SIS Integration Framework
Session Description: Many clients are now running Blackboard Learn 9.1 SP6 or above and are now able to take advantage of the new SIS Integration Framework.. In this workshop, participants will learn how to use this new framework. Topics will include: Identification of basic data elements, behaviors, and business rules for automation and configuration of the SIS Integration Framework. You will have an opportunity to learn how the framework operates, what best practices are associated with the framework, and how others in the workshop have used the framework.

Session Title: Enterprise Surveys - Beyond a Single Course
Session Description: The new Enterprise Survey tool provides administrators with the ability to create, manage, and deploy dynamic surveys to selected users, courses, and organizations at their institution, as well as others outside their institution via email. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to create a survey using the various question types, how to deploy the survey, and how to gather the results.

You will have an opportunity to build your own template and explore ways to use the template as a tool for improved online instruction.

Session Title: Disaster Recovery
Session Description: Natural disasters can strike, but it's often far more mundane circumstances that cause your institution's mission critical applications to suddenly fail. This workshop looks at the key parameters, plans and documentation every institution should have in place in the event the worst case scenario hits. The workshop will include an overview of the definition and criteria for disaster recovery (DR) planning. Additionally, there will be a hands-on exercise involving participants' reflections on a DR case study (based on an implementation developed and delivered by Blackboard's Managed Hosting group). Participants will start work documenting their own disaster recovery plan using a template that they can take back to their organization. The workshop will provide a more holistic yet tactical view on planning and budgeting for your DR strategy.

Session Description: In this forum, participants will have opportunities to hear engaging presentations, share experiences and resources, and connect more fully with the certified trainer community. There will be four 15-minute presentation/demos on the following topics: Faculty Training, Upgrade Strategies, Training Materials, Beyond Blackboard; Web 2..0 Resources, and My Own Professional Development. After each presentation, there will be opportunity for questions, as well as smaller group and/or large group interaction to continue the discussion. During the 2-hour "On Your Own" lunch break; trainers are encouraged to continue their morning discussions.

Session Title: How to Engage Students by Gamifying your Blackboard Course

Session Description: Blackboard Learn, Release 9.1 began a process of using frequently released service packs to introduce new functionality and software enhancements on a regular basis and now has added Building Blocks as a way to add even more functionality. In this workshop, participants will explore what's new in Release 9.1, SP10 and beyond. In addition to learning how to use the new tools, participants will have an opportunity to discuss best practices for using these tools in the context of online learning.
