You've Been Accepted — Now You Want to Deliver a Killer Presentation.

Here are some tips and tricks to turn your ideas into a memorable story:

  • Speak with conviction to your audience, listen to their questions, respond to their reactions, adjust and adapt.
  • Follow a logical progression from Introduction to Body to Conclusion.
  • Deliver your message with authenticity – use stories and metaphors to increase the impact of your message.
  • Consider five focal points – eyes, ears, mouth, hands and feet.
    1. Maintain eye contact
    2. Listen to your audience
    3. Project your voice
    4. Use subtle hand gestures
    5. Move around the room
  • A PowerPoint presentation is a visual aid, a presentation does not equate to a PowerPoint deck. PowerPoint decks should:
    • Use large fonts
    • Avoid all caps
    • Avoid busy backgrounds
    • Use a healthy combination of images, words and charts
  • Avoid using fillers like “um” and “ah.” Pauses work best in place of fillers.
  • Bring life to the presentation, during your session allotment, you are an entertainer.
  • We strongly encourage Q&A sessions at the end of your presentation.
  • Smile. Have fun. Enthusiasm is contagious.
