Do I need to register for BbWorld 2011 through the regular registration website?

No. Please do not register for BbWorld as any other attendee would. This application is all you will need to complete. If you register through the regular process, Blackboard will charge you for the applicable registration fees, and we cannot reimburse you for that expense, nor can we identify you as a Faculty Track participant. Please use the Faculty Track Application form. If you have any questions, please contact lauren.gelfound@blackboard.com.

Two of my colleagues have already applied for this Faculty Track and have been accepted. Can I still apply?

Because there are a limited number of seats, we want to share the experience of the Faculty Track with as many different higher education institutions as possible. Thus, we must limit the maximum number of faculty per each individual institution to 2.

Will Blackboard pay for my travel and expenses while in Las Vegas?

Blackboard and McGraw-Hill Higher Education are waiving the registration fee for the 100 accepted faculty members to attend BbWorld (up to $895 value per attendee). That registration fee covers the expenses associated with the BbWorld experience including luncheons, keynotes, physical space and the client appreciation party. Thus, all other expenses, including but not limited to travel and hotel expenses, are the responsibility of the faculty member or their institution.

I am a faculty member, but I also serve another role at the institution (ex. department chair, instructional designer, IT manager, etc.). Will I qualify for one of the 100 available complimentary seats to the Faculty Track at BbWorld?

Unfortunately, no. Because there is no cost to register to attend BbWorld for accepted applications, and because many instructional designers, academic computing, distance ed or other folks on campus also teach courses, we need to make sure that faculty only - not those who serve a dual role at their institution - are approved for one of the 100 available seats. Any individual that serves a dual role at the institution will find the Faculty Track to be too limiting an experience, and is otherwise encouraged to attend BbWorld as a full attendee. Early Bird rates are available through 6/10/2011.
