Mark Belles is senior vice president of K-12 at Blackboard Inc. He leads the combined K-12 sales, marketing, and customer care organizations across the company.
Mark joined Blackboard in August 2007 to lead the Blackboard Partnerships program. He was soon promoted to vice president of business development and specifically provided leadership on Blackboard’s partnerships with content providers.
In early 2010, Mark became vice president of sales and marketing operations. In fall 2010, Mark began leading Blackboard’s global sales organization; he had responsibility for driving sales across multiple platforms in the role of senior vice president of global sales operations and strategy. Mark also helped to lead Blackboard’s international business interests in China, Australia, and New Zealand.
Prior to Blackboard, Mark spent 17 years in the technology industry with roles in sales, sales management, and business development at IBM, Vignette, and Dimension Data.
Mark earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from St. Olaf College and also studied at Cambridge University and University of Lancaster in the UK. He is married with two children and resides in the District of Columbia.
