Blackboard Announces BbWorld ‘07™ to be Held in Boston
First Combined Blackboard and WebCT User Conference will Feature
New York Times Best-Selling Author of “Freakonomics” as Keynote Speaker
Dallas, TX, EDUCAUSE 2006 Annual Conference — October 12, 2006 — Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB), a leading provider of enterprise technology to the education industry, announced today that its 2007 User Conference, BbWorld ‘07 will be held in Boston July 9 – 12, 2007. BbWorld ‘07, the first combined user conference in North America for Blackboard and former WebCT clients, is expected to attract the largest audience to date of Blackboard User conferences – the 9th annual –with an anticipated audience of about 3,500 people from academic institutions across the globe. New York Times best-selling author of Freakonomics, Steven Levitt will open the conference with a keynote presentation. Technology guru and founder of Garage Technology Ventures, Guy Kawasaki, will deliver the second day keynote.
BbWorld ‘07 will feature an estimated one hundred client-led sessions, highlighting best practices and innovations to enhance teaching and learning. Conference attendees will have unique opportunities to network with peers from around the country, and abroad, to forge lasting relationships.
At BbWorld ‘06, a meeting between leaders from the Roskilde Business College in Denmark and Region 4 Education Service Center in Houston, Texas, resulted in an exciting new trans-Atlantic course in which students from both schools interact through the Blackboard platform to exchange information and learn about each others culture.
