Blackboard Names Six New Exemplary Course Project Winners; Blackboard Announces Expansion Plans for Exemplary Course Project 2007
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 12, 2006--Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ:
BBBB) today named six winners of the seventh annual WebCT Exemplary
Course Project (ECP), a prominent and long-running honor for online
learning faculty achievement.
Project sponsor Blackboard Inc. recently merged with WebCT, Inc.,
and the combined company continues to provide and support the full
range of each organization's product lines to education institutions
around the world.
WebCT's Exemplary Course Project singles out online courses for
displaying best practices in course design, interaction/collaboration,
assessment/evaluation, meaningful technology use and learner support.
Blackboard will expand the 2007 Exemplary Course Program by
opening it up to the broader Blackboard(R) and WebCT(R) community of
more than 3,650 institutions.

Courses will be demonstrated Thursday night from 5 to 6:15 p.m. in
the !MPACT 2006 Exhibit Hall.
The Exemplary Course Project evaluation was conducted for WebCT
by: Dr. David Graf, director of technology support services at the
Fischler Graduate School of Education & Human Services at Nova
Southeastern University; and Maisie Caines, WebCT faculty development
specialist at the College of the North Atlantic's Clarenville Campus.
The following WebCT Institutions also participated in the
evaluation process: College of the North Atlantic, Coventry
University, Georgia State University, Marshall University, Purdue
University, University of Alberta, University of Connecticut,
University of Georgia, University of Northern Iowa, University of
North Carolina, University of North Texas, University of Utah and
Villanova University.
